Live Performance Contracts

With Gordon Firemark, Esq.

Theatrical Attorney Gordon Firemark will explain the nitty-gritty of
live performance contracts and the surrounding legal issues. You'll
learn about Performer Agreements for plays and musicals, financing and
producing one-person shows, booking agreements for headliners and other
performers, and the special issues surrounding stage combat,nudity, and
recording of performances. We'll also discuss agreements for the
engagement of directors, choreographers, support personnel,
accompanists, and backup musicians. Finally, Mr. Firemark will recommend
safeguards to ensure you get paid, and what to do when confronted with
safety concerns or other day-of-show problems. There will be plenty of
time for questions and answers.

SPEAKER:Gordon Firemark practices entertainment law in Los Angeles,
helping artists and others in the fields of theatre, film, television,
music, and media realize their dreams. Over his nearly 20 years in
practice,he's advised countless young artists and their parents
inconnection with their dealings in this exciting, but challenging,
industry. He is the producer and host of the Entertainment Law Update
podcast, and teaches Business Law at Loyola Marymount University,Theatre
Law at Southwestern Law School, and operates the how-to website
