Creative Capital’s Workshop Subsidy Program is made possible through the generous support of The Kresge Foundation. Through this program, we will partner with organizations to bring our Professional Development Program (PDP) to even more artists across the country in 2012. Workshop Subsidy Grants are designed to broaden PDP’s reach to more diverse artists and communities.
Organizations can apply for Workshop Subsidy Grants to offer PDP workshops for a reduced fee. Subsidies ranging from $3,000 to $10,000 are available for a limited number of Core, Internet for Artists, Verbal Communications and Taller Profesional de Desarollo para Artistas workshops, to take place in 2012.
Artists and organizations around the country confirm the dramatic impact of these workshops. Professional Development Program participants describe the workshops as “incredible,” “amazing,” “impactful,” “powerful,” “phenomenal” and “life-changing.” Many organizations have worked to bring PDP workshops back to their communities in subsequent years, as they’ve seen a profound change in the careers of artists who have participated.
The application deadline for PDP's 2012 Workshop Subsidy Program is Friday, June 17, 2011.
Please visit the Workshop Descriptions page to see workshop curricula, agendas, budgets and requirements. You can also read bios of Workshop Leaders.
In the past, Partners have been responsible for raising funding to support the full direct costs of bringing a PDP workshop to their community. The Workshop Subsidy Program now reduces direct costs significantly for selected subsidy applicants.

In addition, Partners have found that observing a workshop ahead of time can be extremely helpful in understanding its true value and impact, as well as in promoting workshops to artists in their own community. Therefore, limited Observer Travel Subsidy funds are available to assist with travel costs for potential partners who wish to observe a workshop.
