GRANT-WRITING FOR ARTISTS & ARTS ORGANIZATIONS
AUGUST 20, 2011, 10:30 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.

This workshop will guide you in answering questions on the funding
process and how to find funders for your project. We'll cover the basic
elements of grant proposals, including formulating the description,
budget, and mission statement of your project. We'll also engage in a
breakout session to apply what we discuss and enable participants to
network. This workshop is for individual artists as well as nonprofit
agencies. Bring a pen and paper and be ready to work; this is an
interactive class!

SPEAKER: Joyce Clarke is a freelance grant writer and owner of A Manna
Group Grantwriter. She writes for small and mid-size nonprofits whose
mission is focused on education or the arts; she also works with
individual artists. Joyce has taught grantwriting at her alma mater
UCLA, has written for some celebrity foundations, and has written text
for comic books.
