The Department of Cultural Affairs for the City of LA presented the proposed 2011-2012 departmental budget to the Budget & Finance Committe on April 29th, 2011.  The Committee also heard public testimony from several stakeholders expressing support for the Department's activities and programs.

The Los Angeles City Council has begun the public review of the Mayor’s proposed 2011-12 budget. On Tuesday, April 26^th, the Arts, Parks, Health & Aging Committee discussed the Department of Cultural Affairs’ (DCA) current budget and the Mayor’s proposed budget relative to the department.

The Arts, Parks, Health & Aging Committee of the Los Angeles City Council will be discussing various proposed department budgets, including that of the Department of Cultural Affairs, on Tuesday, April 26th.  The Committee meeting begins at 8:30am; click here to listen live via the City's website.

Mayor Villaraigosa has released his 2011-2012 Budget Recommendations for the City of LA, including proposed allocations to the Department of Cultural Affairs.  The proposal includes reductions to the Department of Cultural Affairs budget that are similar to proposed reductions to nearly every other department in the City. 

The Los Angeles City Council Budget & Finance Committee will hold a special meeting at 6:30pm on Monday, April 4th, to discuss the City's financial status and any projected shortfalls for the coming year.  The meeting provides an opportunity for stakeholders to learn more about the City's fiscal projections, and to provide public testimony related to the proposed budget if desired.
