United Teachers Los Angeles has reached a Tentative Agreement (TA) with Los Angeles Unified School District that would restore at least 134 elementary arts teachers in 2011/2012.

Bennett Kayser has officially won the runoff election for LAUSD School Board 5th District seat after an extremely close election. The Los Angeles Times reports that Kayser won by only 600 votes, receiving 10,700 total votes in an election with less than 10% voter turnout.
